SLAview, 3 resources that will help you (part 2)

This is the continuation of a series of articles that aim to present some of the resources of the SLAview which will help making its usage even more efficient.

The SLAview is a complete system of monitoring of performance and failures of assets in the network. Primarily, the system counts with several resources that will enable a better knowledge of what happens in the infrastructure.

In this article, we will highlight 3 more resources of the SLAview which will go beyond the basic functionalities and that maybe you don’t know yet.

CREATION OF PROFILES

With the profiles, the user has total control of which information will be collected of its assets, how they are processed and how they will be visualized. Thus, guaranteeing a global and personalized analysis of the infrastructure.

For performance analysis the main protocol utilized is the SNMP. That is to say, in order to be monitorable is enough to support the SNMP protocol. The functioning of the profile creation follows the subsequent logics:

  • The data collected via SNMP is stored inside a variable of collection.
  • The variable of summarization is created from one or more variables of collection. During the creation of the variable of summarization it is possible to create customized formulas with the variable of collection.
  • Finally, the graphic is created. In this manner, the curves of the graphic are created from the variables of summarization. During the creation of the curves it is possible to create customized formulas with the variables of summarization.

Therefore, the user has the power to create the graphic with extreme liberty to keep track of the parameters of the SLA in his infrastructure.

REPORTS OF PROJECTION

Among the reposts available on the SLAview, the projection report is highlighted. A report capable of projecting future indicators, relative to the parameters monitored. Before this scenario, the manager can use this report to substantiate their decisions, increasing the assertiveness of its choices.

For activating the projection it is enough to enable the projection in the curve of the chart inside the profile. In this way, the user has the ability to project any parameter in relation to the device and in relation to the mapped object.

CONFIGURATION OF ALARMS

For a system of performance monitoring and identification of failure points, the alarms have a fundamental role. The IT team can be notified in real time in relation to any alteration relevant in the indicators of the network infrastructure.

The alarms, besides the capacity of notifying in real time, demonstrate exactly the object where the event is occurring.
